On June 23, the YouTube channel Genie Is Back uploaded a video featuring Baek Jin Hee and her close university friends. During the conversation, they recalled an embarrassing night out in Itaewon from her college years.
Baek Jin Hee explained that she had been going through several difficult experiences at the time and drank heavily with three friends. “My last memory was the four of us drinking with more than eight bottles piled up beside us,” she said.
After becoming extremely intoxicated, Baek Jin Hee told her friends that she was going to the restroom. Instead, she left alone, took a taxi home and became unreachable, causing her friends to panic. The following day, she discovered that she had lost all her jewelry, including her earrings, ring and bracelet.
She was also shocked by the taxi fare. “It is not far from Itaewon to my house, but the taxi fare was over 80,000 won,” she recalled. Baek Jin Hee admitted that her own behavior frightened her so much that she decided to stop drinking afterward. “I became really scared of myself. After that, I quit drinking,” she said.
Her friends confirmed that although they later tried to persuade her to drink again, she continued avoiding alcohol after the incident.
