BABYMONSTER Presents Top-notch Carol Cover, Inherits YG’s “Hip-Hop DNA”

YG Entertainment’s rookie group BABYMONSTER commemorated their first Christmas by presenting a special cover

On December 20, YG Entertainment officially released a video titled “BABYMONSTER – ‘Christmas Without You’ COVER (SPECIAL PRESENT)” on their official channel. The video is BABYMONSTER’s reinterpretation of Ava Max’s original song, “Christmas Without You”.

Amid a charming space adorned with whimsical lighting and props, exuding the Christmas atmosphere, BABYMONSTER, dressed in white and red-toned outfits, captivated listeners with their warm vocals. The combination of rhythmic accompaniment and the perfect execution of a thrilling high note in the latter part vividly showcased their robust vocal abilities.

BABYMONSTER, who inherits YG’s “hip-hop DNA”, also added their unique flair to the arrangement, providing music fans with a different kind of enjoyment. Especially, the rap parts by Ruka and Asa seamlessly blended with the members’ vocals, creating a special chemistry.

At the same time, the girl group’s cute movements and gestures using various props such as trees and gift boxes revealed their inherent innocent and adorable charm. Shouting “Merry Christmas,” the members gifted viewers with a cheerful energy, leaving smiles on their faces.

On the other hand, BABYMONSTER’s debut song, “BATTER UP”, achieved a remarkable feat by securing the top spot on iTunes charts in 21 countries, including a debut at number one on the worldwide chart.

It also reached impressive positions on the Billboard Global 200 (101st) and Billboard Global Excl. U.S (49th). On Spotify, the world’s largest music platform, BABYMONSTER surpassed 10 million streams in just ten days, setting a new record for the shortest time for a debut song by a K-pop girl group to achieve this milestone.
