BABYMONSTER is YG’s Exception: Even Got a Schedule Never Done by BLACKPINK during Debut

It seems that YG is determined to push its rookie girl group BABYMONSTER, to the point of making the group its “exception”

On April 17, YG released a poster announcing BABYMONSTER’s first fan meeting tour, causing fans to be restless. After officially making their debut with a full lineup of 7 members, BABYMONSTER has been promoted passionately by YG.

Recently, the group has had a packed schedule appearing on music shows, continuously filming content, and attending events. Despite some mixed reactions towards their new song “Sheesh”, BABYMONSTER easily captures the public’s affection thanks to their talent, which contributes to enhancing their reputation.

Accordingly, BABYMONSTER will have the opportunity to meet fans from all over Asia in 5 cities, as part of their “See You There” fan meeting tour in May and June. This is quite the exception, as YG never held an Asian fan meeting tour of this scale for its rookie artist in the past.

Meeting fans in many countries will open up more opportunities for BABYMONSTER, attracting more hardcore fans and contributing to building a strong fandom. It is evident that YG is determined to “push” its rookie girl group BABYMONSTER this year.

On the other hand, especially when compared with other YG groups, who rarely appear on TV programs and only performed on a meager number of music shows, BABYMONSTER is “YG’s exception”.

It seems that YG has ambitious plans for BABYMONSTER, to the point of pulling all its strings to promote the group.

On the other hand, BABYMONSTER’s first release, “Batter Up”, did not do well. As the girl group finally returns with “Sheesh” and a 7-member lineup on April 1, YG decides to “start anew” by changing BABYMONSTER’s debut date to this day – another move never seen before in YG.

On the other hand, as soon as BABYMONSTER’s fan meeting tour schedule was announced, Kpop fans were excited about YG’s plans for the new girl group.

Even in BLACKPINK’s 7-year career, the global girl group has only held 1 fan meeting. With the motto of “quality over quantity,” BLACKPINK has been hidden by YG like a treasure chest, with few comebacks, few fan interaction events, and only 2 World Tours throughout their career.

Contrary to that, BABYMONSTER’s constant show appearance and fanmeeting tour truly proves the group as “YG’s exception”.
