Biography

Leeseo, legally Lee Hyun-seo, is a South Korean singer, dancer, and television personality. She is a member of the South Korean girl group IVE, formed by Starship Entertainment, where she serves as lead dancer, sub-vocalist, visual, and maknae (youngest member).

Early Life and Education

Leeseo was born on February 21, 2007, in Seoul, South Korea. Before her idol debut, she worked as a kids model under SM Entertainment’s Kids Model First Generation. In 2019, she was scouted by Starship Entertainment while shopping with her parents and subsequently became a trainee.

She attended Seoul Jamwon Elementary School and Bangbae Middle School, and later enrolled in Hanlim Multi Art School in the Broadcasting and Entertainment Department. Leeseo graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School in January 2026.

Career

Pre-Debut and IVE Debut (2019–2021)

Leeseo trained with Starship Entertainment for approximately two years before debuting. On November 6, 2021, she was revealed as the sixth and final member of IVE. The group debuted on December 1, 2021 with the single album Eleven and its title track, which topped major Korean music charts. IVE went on to receive multiple rookie awards and prestigious year-end honors.

Group Activities and Solo Projects (2022–Present)

In June 2022, Leeseo participated in the collaborative digital single “Blue & Black”, released by members of IVE, Oh My Girl, and Cravity as part of a Starship Entertainment and Pepsi project.

On February 22, 2024, she released the OST track “May Lily” for the webtoon series I’m the Queen in This Life. Later that year, she expanded her broadcast career by becoming an MC for SBS’s Inkigayo alongside Han Yu-jin (ZEROBASEONE) and Moon Seong-hyun, a role she held until December 7, 2025 after one year and seven months.
