Lee Jae-in is a South Korean actress. She began her acting career as a child and has since become known for her versatile performances in both film and television. Lee first gained widespread recognition for her breakthrough role in the mystery film Svaha: The Sixth Finger (2019) and has continued to build her reputation through acclaimed roles in series such as Racket Boys (2021) and Night Has Come (2023). Early Life and Education
Lee Jae-in was born on February 6, 2004, in Taebaek, Gangwon Province, South Korea. She made her first public appearance at the age of seven after her mother posted photos of her online, which led to early offers to appear on television and sparked her interest in acting.
Career
Child Acting and Debut (2012–2018)
Lee began her acting career at a young age, making her debut in 2012 with roles in television series such as Ice Adonis, where she played the younger version of a character. Over the next several years she appeared in various TV dramas and films in supporting and cameo roles, gaining early experience across multiple genres.
Her early film appearances included roles in Happiness for Sale (2013), No Tears for the Dead (2014), and Horror Stories III (2016), showcasing her ability to take on a variety of characters from a young age.
Breakthrough and Recognition (2019–2021)
Lee’s breakthrough came in 2019 with the mystery film Svaha: The Sixth Finger, in which she portrayed twin sisters with contrasting personalities. Her performance received critical acclaim and earned her prominent awards including Best New Actress – Film at the Baeksang Arts Awards and the Golden Cinema Film Festival.
In the same year, she took on her first regular television role in the social drama Beautiful World (2019). She continued expanding her television work in 2021, appearing in the legal espionage series Undercover (JTBC) and the sports drama Racket Boys (SBS), where she played Han Se-yoon, a talented youth badminton player. Her performance in Racket Boys earned her Best Young Actress at the SBS Drama Awards.
Lee also delivered a notable performance in the thriller film Hard Hit (2021), further solidifying her status as a rising young actress.
Recent and Upcoming Projects (2022–Present)
In 2022, Lee appeared in the anthology series O’PENing: First Sight (tvN). In 2023, she starred in Night Has Come, showcasing her growing range in dramatic roles. For 2025, she is set to appear in the series Our Unwritten Seoul as a teenage version of the character Yoo Mi-ji / Yoo Mi-rae, and in Concrete Market as Choi Hee-ro.
Lee also continues to expand her filmography with roles in the upcoming film Hi-Five (2025), in which she plays Park Wan-seo.
