Biography

Ian is a South Korean singer, dancer, and performer. She is a member of the South Korean girl group Hearts2Hearts, managed by SM Entertainment, where she serves as the group’s center, visual, and one of the lead dancers and vocalists. Hearts2Hearts debuted in February 2025, marking Ian as one of the youngest idols to debut under SM Entertainment.

Early Life and Education

Jeong Lee-an was born on October 9, 2009, in Hyehwa-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea. She was raised in Seoul as an only child. Before entering the entertainment industry, Ian worked as a child model. She enrolled at Seoul Hyehwa Elementary School and later attended Seoul National University Girls’ Middle School, which she did not complete due to her trainee and debut activities.

Ian trained under SM Entertainment for approximately three to four years prior to debut after being cast through an SNS (social media) audition process including being contacted through direct messages which is a relatively new scouting route for the agency.

Career

Debut with Hearts2Hearts (2025–Present)

Ian was officially revealed as a member of Hearts2Hearts in early 2025, ahead of the group’s debut. Hearts2Hearts is an eight-member girl group formed by SM Entertainment and debuted on February 24, 2025, with the single album The Chase and its lead single of the same name. The group is part of the fifth generation of K-pop acts and has attracted significant attention since debut.

Within Hearts2Hearts, Ian is recognized for her high-energy performances, compelling stage presence, and role as a central figure in choreography and group visuals. Her personality and on-stage charisma have earned her favor among fans, often noted as a mood-maker for the group.
