Song Eun-seok, professionally known as Eunseok, is a South Korean singer and a member of the boy group RIIZE, formed by SM Entertainment. Born on March 19, 2001, in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, Eunseok later grew up in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, where he spent most of his youth. He is widely recognized for his distinctive visuals, calm charisma, and refined stage presence, which have made him one of the most visually striking members of RIIZE. His image is often described as elegant and mature, balancing well with his reserved yet warm personality.

Early Life and Education

Eunseok showed interest in entertainment from a young age. During his school years, he was known for his tall stature and standout appearance, which eventually led him to be scouted by SM Entertainment.

He later entered SM Entertainment’s trainee system, one of the most competitive training programs in the K-pop industry. Pre-Debut Activities

On July 2, 2022, Eunseok was officially introduced as a member of SMRookies, SM Entertainment’s pre-debut trainee team. This reveal drew attention from fans due to his model-like proportions and sophisticated aura.
As part of SMRookies, Eunseok participated in various internal projects and training showcases, steadily building anticipation for his official debut. His long trainee period allowed him to develop a solid foundation in performance and professionalism.

Debut with RIIZE

Eunseok officially debuted as a member of RIIZE on September 4, 2023, with the release of the group’s debut single album Get A Guitar.

The group name RIIZE combines the words “Rise” and “Realize,” symbolizing a team that grows together while realizing dreams through shared experiences. RIIZE quickly gained attention for their fresh musical direction, strong branding, and natural chemistry among members.

Within the group, Eunseok takes on the role of visual and sub-vocalist, contributing to both the group’s image and vocal performances. His calm demeanor and elegant visuals contrast with RIIZE’s energetic concepts, creating a balanced group dynamic.

  1. Until his third year of middle school, Eunseok had little interest in becoming an idol and did not have a clear career path. He simply wanted to find something he could work hard at.
  2. Eunseok was street-casted by SM Entertainment while walking home from school. At first, he planned to refuse because he had no interest in the entertainment industry, and the casting staff did not reveal the company’s name.
  3. He was approached by casting agents a total of four times near his school, at a subway station, and in Cheongdam-dong before he finally accepted the offer.
  4. Eunseok joined SM Entertainment in early 2017 and trained for approximately six years, making him the longest-trained member of RIIZE.
  5. On July 2, 2022, Eunseok was officially revealed as a member of SMROOKIES, alongside Shohei and Seunghan.
