In a surprising crossover between sports and Japanese pop culture, Japanese AV actress Aoi Ibuki, popularly known as the “AV version of Haruko Akagi” ( 赤木晴子 from Slam Dunk), went viral after being spotted at the NBA season opener on October 22.
During the broadcast of the Los Angeles Lakers’ game, eagle-eyed viewers noticed a striking Asian woman sitting directly behind NBA legend LeBron James. The woman was later identified as Aoi Ibuki, setting off a storm of excitement among both basketball fans and her own followers.
“It’s my first time watching an NBA game live!” Ibuki shared on Instagram, posting several photos of herself wearing a Lakers jersey and a light gray hoodie. Her enthusiastic post quickly gained traction, earning thousands of likes and comments.

Aoi Ibuki’s attendance has sparked widespread curiosity, not only because of her profession but also due to her well-documented love for basketball. When she debuted, she posed with a basketball in her promo photos and declared herself a basketball fan. This led fans to nickname her the “AV版赤木晴子”, referencing the beloved character from the classic anime Slam Dunk.
