Following the announcement of the Best New Artist at the 2025 MAMA Awards, K-pop rookie Annie from ALLDAY PROJECT (ADP) unexpectedly went viral this time, not for a win, but for the flood of apologies fans believe she deserves.
The MAMA Awards, one of the most prestigious events in the K-pop industry, recently crowned two winners in the coveted Best New Artist category: Hearts2Hearts and CORTIS. The result was largely welcomed by the public. Hearts2Hearts dominated with their score coming from digital performance, streaming numbers, and album sales. However, beyond these two victors, another major rookie name flooded social media discourse: ADP. Touted as one of the fiercest competitors for this year’s rookie titles, ADP’s absence from the winner list sparked mixed reactions.
