Lee Chanhyuk, a member of musical duo AKMU, released a behind-the-scenes video of his “shaving performance”.
On November 22nd, a behind-the-scenes video of Lee Chanhyuk’s solo album “ERROR” was uploaded on the official YouTube channel of AKMU.
On this day, Lee Chanhyuk said, “I wanted to become a dead person. I thought that I wanted to destroy all the images and conditions of Lee Chanhyuk that I had before and start anew. I need to set up a character for the new Lee Chanhyuk, and then a project to make Lee Chanhyuk a superstar started.
“I made this stage with the thought that ‘the owner of the stage is the artist’. Professionalism is very important, but there is a framework and a line that must not be crossed,” he said, revealing his preparation for his October 23rd stage on SBS’ Inkigayo.
He then explained, “The frame is not important to me in this album. Even if I shave my head on stage, this is what I want to say. To me, the stage is a place where I have to show myself the best I can.”
Lee Chanhyuk concluded, “Cutting your hair is known as a kind of rebellious expression, and it was a resistance to the universal stage setting. I thought, whatever I do on stage, it should still be a stage.”
Finally, the male singer mentioned his younger sister Lee Suhyun, saying, “I was wondering who could actually run there if I was carried away in an accident. In the end, Suhyun played the role of following me very sadly while I was being taken to the emergency room. Although only the back of her head appeared.”
