“A Time Called You” is a mystery romance in which Jun Hee (Jeon Yeo-bin), whose boyfriend passed away a year ago, timeslip to 1998 and meets Si Heon (Ahn Hyo Seop) who looks just like her boyfriend and a friend named In Gyu (Kang Hoon). The series was based on the popular Taiwanese drama of the same name.

The production portrays a romantic relationship that transcends time and space between Koo Yeon Jun in 2023 and Nam Si Heon in 1998.

In particular, Ahn Hyo Seop drew attention for his performance across the times, from his late teens to his 20s, 30s, and 40s. He said, “I want the eyes of the character to look different each time. I thought it was the eyes that couldn’t be changed from a person’s face. So, I tried to give Si Heon’s unique eyes for each age.”

Ahn Hyo Seop said, “While playing Si Heon in his 40s, I thought it was right to show him with long hair rather than a neat appearance,” so I personally suggested, “Can I do it with long hair?” In the original, the character comes out in a neat way, but if I were Si Heon, would I have been able to stay neat? I didn’t think I could stay neat,” he explained.

Ahn Hyo Seop’s Acting in “A Time Called You” Faces Mixed Reviews

Ahn Hyo Seop said, “There is another part where I gave my opinion. Won’t he become the president of a webtoon company’s startup later? Originally, he was not a webtoon company president, but a delivery app owner. That was so out of the blue. The writer’s intention was for him to be a CEO who looked forward to the future and succeeded,” he said. “The reason why I became the president of a webtoon company was that he always reads comic books. I asked the writer what it would be like to connect them to webtoons, but fortunately, they listened to my opinions. It was nothing, but it was very meaningful to me,” he said with a proud smile.

Ahn Hyo Seop, who sympathized with the “story of loving beyond time and even the soul,” said, “I tend to believe in this kind of love. I wondered. Personally, I want to believe. About this love,” he confessed.

Meanwhile, “A Time Called You” is currently streaming on Netflix.
