On January 6, Ahn Bo Hyun appeared on episode 121 of YouTube’s popular talk show Salon Drip, produced by TEO. During the episode, he reflected on his time working part-time as a designated driver before achieving success as an actor.
Recalling one particularly memorable night, Ahn Bo Hyun shared how a routine call unexpectedly turned into a lasting friendship.
“I went directly into the bar because the customer wasn’t coming out,” he said. “He told me, ‘I’ll pay the driving fee, so let’s sit down and eat meat together.’”

According to Ahn Bo Hyun, the customer seemed deeply moved after learning about his situation.
“He said he was shocked like, ‘There really are people who live this earnestly,’” Ahn Bo Hyun recalled with a smile. “Honestly, I thought I hit the jackpot.”
The two ended up sharing a meal at a standing barbecue restaurant in Sinchon. Because the customer was heavily intoxicated, Ahn Bo Hyun safely escorted him home afterward.
What made the encounter even more special was what happened next.
“The next day, he contacted me first,” Ahn Bo Hyun explained. “We talked on the phone, and naturally, we became close.”

When host Jang Do Yeon asked whether they stayed in touch, Ahn Bo Hyun surprised viewers by answering that they still do.
“We’re still in contact, and he even comes to my movie premieres,” he said. The man, born in 1981, is about seven years older than Ahn Bo Hyun close enough in age that the two quickly bonded.
Reflecting on the experience, Ahn Bo Hyun credited his journey to the people who supported him along the way. “I think I’ve been blessed with good relationships,” he said sincerely. “That’s how I made it this far.”
He added that now that he is financially stable, he finally has opportunities to give back. “Now that I can take care of myself, I have chances to return the kindness I received,” he shared.
Ahn Bo Hyun’s candid confession struck a chord with viewers, highlighting his grounded personality and appreciation for human connections formed during difficult times.
