On June 11th, an article titled, “I lost my husband to an AfreecaTV female BJ”, drew keen attention in the online community FMKorea.
A, the woman who made the post, angrily said, “In my early 30s, I became a divorced woman because my husband had an affair with a woman who is working as an AfreecaTV BJ”, adding “After ruining my life, she turned on a live broadcast and said, ‘I didn’t kill anyone, why is that a crime?’”.
A continued, “She shamelessly said, ‘It’s over if I pay a fine, right?’, ‘Even though he has a wife, why can’t he have an affair if he likes someone?’, and caused secondary harm to me”, adding “You have to spend a lot of money to meet pretty women like her. If you want to meet her, you must sponsor star balloons”.
A complained that she contacted the female BJ but did not receive any proper apology and got blocked by the BJ. While A has to live with the title “divorced woman” for the rest of her life, she appeals for help, revealing that the female BJ’s secondary harm made her have bad thoughts.
Although A did not mention the name of the female BJ, netizens quickly found out who she was. The female BJ’s name is Yoo Ji-in.
As the controversy broke out, Yoo Ji-in immediately released her stance, She posted a notice on the bulletin board of her AfreecaTV channel under the title “I have something to tell you guys”.
Yoo Ji-in said, “I met a married man for the first time in March. Since then, we have been contacting each other regularly”, adding, “Despite knowing that he already had a family, I developed feelings for him and started dating him”.
She continued, “After dating for a month, we began to see each other’s shortcomings and gradually fell apart. I met another passionate fan through a meal date and had an affair with him”. The married man discovered that Yoo Ji-in cheated on him after looking at her cell phone and asked the female BJ to cut her relationship with the other man.
Yoo Ji-in claimed that the married man repeatedly threatened her and forced her to continue dating him by saying, “I’ll expose everything. I’ll reveal all of this through a live broadcast”.
Yoo Ji-in said, “The married man asked me to give him 150 million won. I had a hard time and was so stressed out by the recent threats that I even thought of dying. It was my fault so I couldn’t even tell anyone about that my mind completely collapsed”.
She continued, “I’m writing this thinking that I may die and lose everything. I want to apologize to my viewers who must have been so disappointed by my misbehaviors. I’ll take all the criticism”.
Yoo Ji-in only complained about the damage she suffered while dating the married man but did not mention A, who divorced because of Yoo Ji-in’s affair with her husband. In response to the issue, AfreecaTV viewers poured reactions such as “Never come back”.
