SM Entertainment has announced strong legal measures against malicious online content targeting aespa’s Winter, amid circulating dating rumors involving BTS member Jungkook. The agency confirmed on December 10 that it is closely monitoring harmful posts and comments, including sexual harassment, defamation, personal attacks, insults, privacy violations, and deepfake content.

In a formal statement, SM Entertainment emphasized that it has identified numerous instances of content meant to damage Winter’s reputation or maliciously criticize her on platforms such as DC Inside, Women’s Generation, Nate Pann, Instiz, The Qoo, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube. The agency confirmed that it will review these posts and progressively expand legal actions against those responsible.
The statement also clarified that individuals posting malicious content about aespa on social media, online communities, and anonymous forums including creating and spreading false rumors, sexualized content, or distorted mediaare being targeted for criminal and civil legal action. SM Entertainment stressed that there will be no leniency in dealing with these offenses, urging the public to avoid engaging in such harmful behavior.

The latest controversy follows online speculation suggesting Winter and Jungkook might be dating, with fans noting matching tattoos of dog faces and similar designs in in-ear monitors, bracelets, and hats. Despite widespread discussion, neither Big Hit Music (Jungkook’s agency) nor SM Entertainment has made any comment on the dating rumors.
SM Entertainment concluded by reaffirming its commitment to protecting the rights and interests of its artists through all available means.
