“We’re all sad…” aespa, whose comeback was pushed back because of the fight between Lee Soo Man and SM, made this “indirect sarcasm” remark

aespa members said “Online ticket price is too expensive” during a live broadcast ahead of the concert held on Feb 25th~26th.

On Feb 16th, aespa members Karina, Winter, Giselle and Ningning conducted a surprise live broadcast on Instagram.

The members expressed their feelings ahead of the concert, “We turned on a surprise live broadcast during concert practice. Our new song will be revealed at the concert. We’re working hard for you guys. It’s our first time doing a concert. We’re learning a lot of choreography, but it’s hard. We have to increase our stamina.”

While reading fans’ comments, Winter said, “You paid to watch it online? Online ticket price is too expensive. The cost is 60,000 won.” Hearing this, other members apologized to the fans who bought online broadcasting rights, saying, “We’re all sad.”

The members then spoiled some of the new song’s lyrics and the set list. They wrapped up the broadcast, “Thank you so much for enjoying our live broadcast. Please look forward to the concert. Let’s eat well and live healthily.”

After the live broadcast ended, netizens left comments such as “60,000 won is really expensive”, “If I were a fan, I’d appreciate it when they say that”…

Meanwhile, on Feb 16th, SM Entertainment’s CEO Lee Sung Soo criticized HYBE Entertainment’s acquisition of former executive producer Lee Soo Man’s shares and claimed, “The release of aespa’s new album was scheduled for around Feb 20th, 2023. The real reason why the comeback was delayed was Lee Soo Man’s lyrics. Some of the lyrics contain words such as sustainability, co-prosperity and greenism. In fact, words about planting trees directly appeared in the lyrics in the early stages, which made the members of aespa upset. The co-CEOs decided that the release of such songs should be canceled for aespa’s sake. That’s why aespa’s comeback was pushed back.”

In this regard, former executive manager Lee Soo Man confessed, “CEO Lee Sung Soo is my wife’s nephew, and I’ve been seeing him since he was 4 years old. CEO Lee entered SM at the age of 19 and started with fan management task. My heart aches.”
