On the July 12 episode of JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, Karina appears as a guest and shares several behind-the-scenes stories from her personal life and career.

During the show, Karina says she feels a special connection with dancer Jung Ho Young, who gained attention through aespa’s hit songs including “Whiplash,” “Supernova,” and “Next Level.” She explains that they share similar experiences, joking that they are “kindred spirits.” She also reveals an unexpected nickname she had during middle school before performing an impromptu dance with Jung Ho Young.

Ahead of aespa’s third world tour, which kicks off in Seoul this August, Karina gives viewers a look inside her refrigerator. Describing herself as a devoted fan of Korean cuisine, she says she makes a point of saving the locations of Korean restaurants whenever she travels overseas. Her refrigerator is filled with a variety of Korean ingredients, including one food she continues to eat despite having an allergy to it, a confession that even caught host Kim Sung Joo’s attention.

Known among fans for her “rubber-band weight” because of how quickly her weight can fluctuate, Karina also opens up about how she managed to reverse a sudden weight gain in just one day. Winter reveals that Karina lost the weight “like a professional athlete,” a story that reportedly left former football star Ahn Jung Hwan astonished.

Karina has previously spoken about her dramatic weight changes. During her 2023 appearance on Lee Young Ji’s YouTube show Nothing Much Prepared, she introduced herself as someone with “rubber-band weight.”

“I’ve gained 4 kilograms in a day and lost 4 kilograms in a day before,” she said at the time. “I wore multiple layers of padded clothing and tight shirts, then ran for four hours.”

Viewers will get a closer look at Karina’s refrigerator and her favorite ingredients when Please Take Care of My Refrigerator airs on JTBC on July 12 at 8:50 p.m. KST.
