A harsh review of aespa’s recent concert is generating heated debate after going viral online.
The review originated from a vlog posted by a small YouTuber, NOLGGUYA, who attended the concert as a non-fan. Despite her channel’s limited following, the video exploded on Nate Pann, where it amassed over 124,000 views, drawing attention from both fans and casual listeners.
The Youtuber admitted she had looked forward to experiencing aespa’s big hits live, but left disappointed.
During the show, she filmed herself in the audience and commented: “But isn’t the AR too obvious?” — pointing out the reliance on pre-recorded vocals.
Later, in a follow-up video filmed at home, she elaborated: “I am speaking as a non-fan. I don’t think I’d go see aespa again in concert. The AR vocals were too obvious. Maybe some songs were live, but I’d say all the dance tracks had heavy AR back tracks.”
“Not sure I’d go to an aespa concert again,” she stated, even calling it a “waste of money.”
The YouTuber also pushed back on the idea that difficult choreography justified lip-syncing. She pointed out that groups like 2NE1 and WINNER managed to “kill it live” while dancing, and said aespa should aim for similar standards.
She compared the experience unfavorably to other concerts: “Because they’re not singing live, I’m just watching them on a screen. How is that different from watching a music show? I could’ve just stayed home and watched YouTube. To be honest, it felt completely different from the DAY6 concert yesterday. I’m not a fan of either group, but the two shows were worlds apart.”
The YouTuber added that while aespa’s visuals were stunning, the concert lacked energy: “It was boring. Of course, the members were all super pretty. But it just felt like watching a music show performance by goddesses. It wasn’t the kind of concert where I could enjoy myself. So it felt a little like a waste of money. It was really the kind of concert that only fans could enjoy.”
She further expressed disappointment at not hearing aespa’s vocalists shine: “If they’re going to hold a concert with so much AR, they should say so beforehand. I know Ningning and Winter are good singers, so I was looking forward to hearing them live. But the only performance that sounded live was Winter’s solo song. I didn’t feel any energy from the group overall. They were beautiful, but that was all.”

The blunt review struck a nerve online. Some netizens agreed, saying it reflected concerns long discussed about aespa’s live performances. Others defended the group, pointing out the physical demands of their stages and praising their charisma.
Still, the viral spread of the video highlights the growing scrutiny aespa faces as they push deeper into global markets. With expectations rising, many believe the group must prove themselves through stronger live performances to avoid further image setbacks.
