aespa has continued to set new records among 4th generation girl groups on many platforms. Their latest achievement is on YouTube.
At about 1:30 PM KST on October 23, the MV for the title song “Savage” in aespa’s first mini-album of the same name released on October 5th officially crossed 100 million views after 17 days, 19 hours and 30 minutes of being posted on SMTOWN’s YouTube channel.
Up to this point, SM’s female rookie has had 3 out of 4 MVs reaching 100 million views including Black Mamba, Next Level and Savage. The amount of time it took aespa to achieve this milestone on their MVs has also increasingly improved with 51 days 11 hours, 32 days 8 hours 30 minutes and 17 days 19 hours 30 minutes, respectively.
Previously, the record for the fastest MV of the 4th gen girl group to reach 100 million views on YouTube belonged to ITZY’s Mafia In the Morning (22 days 11 hours 30 minutes) and aespa’s Savage just broke it.
Besides, Savage has become the 7th song in 2021 and the first song of the 4th gen girl group to win a Perfect All-kill on iChart. Sales of Savage’s debut album also surpassed 500,000 copies after only half a month of release. The group’s digital music and album sales achievements are both better than ITZY’s despite their later debut.
Considering the products in 2021 alone, aespa’s Savage is the 2nd fastest MV to reach 100 million views among girl groups, just behind TWICE’s Alcohol-Free and above ITZY’s Mafia In the Morning and After School by Weekly.
