ADOR has officially decided to accept Hanni]back, while questions remain surrounding Minji’s future. The agency addressed the situation on December 29th, stating that Hanni recently visited Korea with her family and held extensive, in-depth discussions with ADOR. According to the agency, the talks involved revisiting past events and taking time to view the situation objectively. ADOR explained that after sincere conversations, Hanni chose to respect the court’s ruling and continue working together with the company.

Hanni previously drew national and international attention in October last year when she appeared as a reference witness at the National Assembly’s Environment and Labor Committee audit over allegations of workplace harassment. Her appearance was unprecedented, as it marked the first time an active idol testified at a parliamentary audit anywhere in the world. During the session, Hanni said, “This is a place that deals with workplace harassment. Through this experience, I realized that the law can’t solve every problem in the world. Still, if people treat each other with basic human respect, at the very least, harassment and exclusion wouldn’t happen.”

At the hearing, Hanni testified that she had continuously and repeatedly felt that NewJeans was being isolated within HYBE. She also addressed the so-called “ignore her” controversy, explaining, “I ran into another artist and their manager, and that manager said, ‘Pretend you didn’t see her and ignore her.’ I couldn’t understand why I had to go through something like that. And this didn’t happen just once or twice.”
Despite being at the center of controversy involving all five NewJeans members, ADOR ultimately chose to bring Hanni back under its management. However, the agency noted that discussions with Minji are still ongoing, leaving her position unresolved for now. At the same time, ADOR confirmed that Danielle has been notified of her contract termination and that legal responsibility will be pursued.

ADOR stated, “We plan to hold legally accountable one family member of Danielle and former CEO Min Hee-jin, who bear significant responsibility for causing this dispute and for NewJeans’ departure and delayed return.” As developments continue to unfold, public attention remains focused on how the remaining members’ situations will be resolved and what this means for NewJeans’ future as a group.
