Chinese actress Wang Ou is reportedly preparing to welcome her second child with comedian-actor He Jiu Hua, according to Chinese media outlet Sohu on February 12. The actress, once labeled “the most hated woman in Chinese showbiz,” has kept a low profile in recent months, with insiders claiming she stepped away from the public eye to conceal her pregnancy. Between late 2023 and 2024, Wang Ou allegedly gave birth in secret to their first child, a daughter. Now, reports suggest she is expecting once again.

Despite having two children together, Wang Ou and He Jiu Hua have neither publicly confirmed their romantic relationship nor registered their marriage. The couple has not held a wedding ceremony and reportedly maintains a distant image in the entertainment industry, appearing almost like “strangers” professionally. Sources claim Wang Ou hopes to formalize their relationship for the sake of their children, but He Jiu Hua has shown little intention of marriage. In July 2023, while Wang Ou was pregnant with their first child, He Jiu Hua was reportedly caught behaving intimately with another woman inside a car. The alleged betrayal sparked backlash and fueled further criticism toward Wang Ou, yet she ultimately chose to forgive him and continue the relationship.
The couple was first linked romantically in June 2022 and soon moved in together. Before her personal controversies overshadowed her career, Wang Ou was recognized as a capable actress with notable performances in dramas such as Nirvana in Fire, The Disguiser, and The Legend of Mulan. However, her reputation collapsed following a high-profile scandal in 2016 involving actor Hawick Lau, who was married at the time to superstar Yang Mi. Paparazzi outlet Fengxing released footage of Hawick Lau repeatedly entering Wang Ou’s hotel room late at night while they were filming together, igniting widespread allegations of an extramarital affair.

Hawick Lau denied cheating, claiming the late-night meetings were solely to discuss scripts, and production staff supported his explanation. He later stated he would avoid discussing scripts privately at night in the future. Nevertheless, public opinion remained skeptical, and both actors faced severe backlash. In 2018, Yang Mi and Hawick Lau officially divorced, further cementing negative perceptions surrounding the scandal.

Since then, Wang Ou’s career trajectory has shifted dramatically. Once favored by major production teams, she has struggled to regain her previous standing in the industry. Ironically, years after being accused of interfering in another woman’s marriage, she has now reportedly experienced public embarrassment in her own relationship due to her boyfriend’s alleged infidelity. As news of her second pregnancy circulates, netizens remain divided—some offering cautious well-wishes for her growing family, while others continue to revisit the controversies that reshaped her public image.
