Ma Dong-seok recently conducted an interview with Hankook Ilbo on the Netflix movie “Badland Hunters” at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. “Badland Hunters” is an action blockbuster that depicts a final struggle for survival between people living in a ruined world and a lawless land dominated only by power. Ma acted enthusiastically as Namsan, a hunter in the wilderness.
In this interview, Ma shared, “I used to be a boxer. I don’t like to fight to win. I think I have to compete a lot to become a good player. I keep trying because I don’t think I’m complete.”
Ma said he is a person whose life has changed because of acting. As much as he likes movies themselves, he expressed his will not let go of them in the future. Ma, a producer and actor, said, “There are things that Korea does much better than other countries. People who watched ‘Badland Hunters’ are surprised to learn that we have good techniques and we need to do something about Korea when filming an action movie.” Ma’s story, “I want to show that we have good techniques, so we have to do something about Korea,” made people anticipate the rising status of K-action.
Meanwhile, “Badland Hunters” was released on the 26th of last month.
