Accounting for 50% of K-pop album sales in May, HYBE artists made an impressive performance in the first half of 2022

HYBE artists are expected to continue to keep the momentum in the second half of this year.

Starting with LE SSERAFIM’s successful debut last month, HYBE artists, including TXT (TOMORROW X TOGETHER), Seventeen, Dvwn, and BTS, released new songs one after another. fromis_9 and Enhypen will take over the baton in HYBE’s comeback rush on June 27th and July 4th.

In the first half of 2022, HYBE Label’s artists continuously broke their own records by releasing new albums. According to Korea’s largest album sales site Hanteo Chart, releases from HYBE Label’s artists accounted for 50% of album sales on the album chart in May. In particular, Seventeen, TXT and LE SSERAFIM have altogether sold 3,738,753 copies of albums.

According to Gaon Chart’s release on June 16th, HYBE Label artists also performed well on various music charts in the 24th week of 2022 (from June 5th to June 11th).

BTS’s new album “Proof” topped both the Album Chart and Retail Album Chart, while Seventeen’s 4th full album “Face the Sun” ranked 4th place. “That That”, the collaboration song of Psy and BTS’s Suga, maintained its high rank on the Streaming Chart and Digital Chart. LE SSERAFIM’s “Fearless” ranked 8th and 9th on these two charts, respectively.

So TXT’s appearance got canceled.

4 BTS songs, including “Yet To Come”, and Seventeen’s “Hot” appeared in TOP 10 of the Download Chart.

If you take a closer look at the performance of each group, you can realize HYBE’s power. BTS proved themselves to be “the 21st-century pop icon” in both name and reality with their newest title track “Yet To Come” from “Proof” album topping Melon’s “TOP 100” Chart within an hour after its release, becoming the first song to do so after chart reorganization. In addition, the song also ranked 3rd on Spotify’s “Daily Top Song Global” Chart on June 10th.

Seventeen quickly became a “million seller” on the first day of the release of “Face the Sun” album. The boy group broke their own highest peak by ranking 7th on the U.S Billboard’s main album chart “Billboard 200”, proving their hot popularity.

TXT has also made a big leap forward with “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child”. They became the youngest annual “million seller” with this album. TXT also set a new milestone by becoming the first overseas artist to have 6 consecutive albums top Oricon’s Weekly Album Ranking. After entering the Billboard 200 Chart, the boy group has remained in the top for four consecutive weeks, presenting their own best performance.

Le Sserafim

Upon debut, LE SSERAFIM quickly showed off their power. The group sold 307,450 copies of their debut album “FEARLESS” within the first week, becoming the first team to record more than 300,000 in first-week sales of any girl group debut. The title track “FEARLESS” continued to gain impressive achievements, landing at #10 on Melon’s weekly chart and charting in “Billboard Global (excluding the US)” and “Billboard Global 200” for 6 weeks in a row.

fromis_9 is aiming for the summer queen title with their 5th mini album “From our Memento Box”, which will be released on June 27th. Enhypen, which will start HYBE artists’ activities in the second half of this year, is raising expectations for their comeback by releasing various contents one after another ahead of the release of their 3rd mini album “MANIFESTO: DAY 1” on July 4th.
