Is it possible that Kim Jong Kook and Yoon Eun Hye, whose love line has been famous for years, were actually an item back in the day?
On April 21st, entertainment reporter-turned-YouTuber Kim Yong Ho and Yoon Deung Ryong, DR Music’s former CEO and producer of girl group Baby V.O.X that Yoon Eun Hye debuted in, hosted a live broadcast together and told stories related to Yoon Eun Hye’s past dating rumors with Kim Jong Kook.
CEO Yoon said, “Ahead of her appearance in ‘X-Man’, we discussed with the production team and decided to make a love line for the two of them (Yoon Eun Hye and Kim Jong Kook). That later broke into a dating scandal. I remember Eun Hye was a high school student at the time, and her house was in Apgujeong-dong.”
He continued, “Eun Hye was at a cafe with her friends on her birthday, and she told me that Kim Jong Kook brought her a cake. I only thought they got close because they were naturally connected on the show.”
Kim Yong Ho, who said he was a friend of Kim Jong Kook, said, “I think Yoon Eun Hye and Kim Jong Kook dated before”. Regarding the reason, he said, “Jong Kook was originally not interested in women and he only liked sports. Buying a cake or paying a visit is something he would only do if he was really in love with someone. He had never done such things before”, making it possible to speculate that the unusual atmosphere between the two was real.
Meanwhile, Kim Jong Kook and Yoon Eun Hye participated in SBS’s entertainment show “X-Man” in 2003 and showed affection for each other. Their love line drew huge attention at that time. Since their appearance on the show, many people speculated that they were actually a couple in real life because of the suspicious atmosphere between them.
Regarding this, Kim Jong Kook once said on an old broadcast, iHe confessed, “All the people around me told me to date her because she’s a very polite and well-mannered woman”. Yoon Eun Hye also said on another show, “My father thought we were dating for real and he really liked it”, adding, “Kang Ho Dong said that if we got married, he would try to give us his wrestling championship belt and 10 million won congratulatory money”. It’s still unknown whether the two actually dated or not but both recognized the huge support they received from the public.
