In early March, there was a huge controversy between NCT fans and BTS fans. Specifically in the encore of Inkigayo on March 8, Jungkook cordially hugged Jaehyun (NCT). He then gave Jaehyun a playful slap in the butt, the way guys usually play with each other. Besides the comments expressing their excitement about the friendship between Jungkook and Jaehyun, many Korean fans of NCT were extremely uncomfortable.
Many NCTzens in Korea have left countless comments humiliating BTS’s youngest member, even claiming that he was sexually harassing Jaehyun. The incident became so serious that the phrase ‘Jungkook harassed’ appeared in Korea’s Top Trending because NCTzens in Korea simultaneously tweeted these words too much.
ARMYs (BTS’s fans) were extremely angry when seeing insults to Jungkook even though the male idol did nothing wrong. Together they gathered malicious comments from many Korean NCTzens and sent a report asking Big Hit to handle it. In the latest developments, it seems that the handling of these malicious comments has been implemented. Notably, among those being sued, there was an NCT fan who was only 12 years old.
