Taiwanese television host and entertainer Jacky Wu has revealed that he quietly divorced his wife Chang Wei-wei 12 years ago, surprising fans with the long-kept secret during a recent concert appearance.

According to Taiwanese media, Jacky Wu made the disclosure while performing at his “Hsien Hsien Tong Le Hui” concert at Genting World in Malaysia on July 19. During the performance, Jacky Wu unexpectedly opened up about his personal life, telling the audience: “I actually got divorced 12 years ago.”

The veteran entertainer married Chang Wei-wei in 1990, and the couple share four children three daughters and one son. Although Jacky Wu had previously acknowledged that the two had been living separately, he had never publicly confirmed that they had legally ended their marriage.

Jacky Wu also revealed that he transferred all of his assets to his former wife as part of the divorce settlement. He added that his eldest daughter, Sandy Wu, helped facilitate the divorce process. Reflecting on his marriage, Jacky Wu admitted: “I wasn’t a good husband, but I’m certain I was a good father.”

Jacky Wu emphasized that the divorce did not involve serious conflict or animosity. According to him, the separation was reached through mutual agreement, and the decision to keep it private was not an attempt to hide the divorce from the public. “It wasn’t something I deliberately concealed. I simply never spoke about it publicly.”

His unexpected revelation has drawn widespread attention, as many fans had believed the couple remained legally married despite reports that they had been living apart.
