Mnet has officially unveiled the main trailer for its upcoming dance survival program Street World Fighter: Directors War (SWDF: Directors War), teasing a competition on a scale unlike any previous installment in the franchise.

Premiering on August 18, the new series expands the universe that began with the hugely successful Street Woman Fighter, shifting the spotlight from dancers to the creative minds behind the performances performance directors.

Instead of competing solely with dance skills, contestants will battle through choreography, stage production, and creative direction.

The trailer opens with provocative interview clips, including remarks such as: “Not every famous dancer can become a director” and “Aren’t the fake ones afraid?” The tense atmosphere is heightened by footage of renowned choreographer Bada in tears, hinting at the emotional pressure contestants face as they transition from performers to directors.

One of the season’s biggest highlights is the “1-on-1 Signature Choreography Battle.” Contestants will compete using some of K-pop’s most recognizable routines, including:

The mission will determine which director can best reinterpret or defend the choreography that helped define these hit songs. The trailer also previews contrasting emotions between Bada and fellow choreographer Ingyu, suggesting fierce competition ahead.

Mnet also introduced its largest mission to date: “Signature 400.” The challenge brings together 400 dancers in a massive performance directed by the contestants. The mission will feature returning stars from previous Mnet dance programs, including: Rian, Lip J, Vata alongside numerous international dancers. Another key element of the competition will see directors battling to recruit the dancers they want for their teams.

The series boasts an impressive judging panel featuring internationally acclaimed choreographers, including: Sean Lew, Anthony Lee (co-founder of Kinjaz), Sienna Lalau. They will be joined by respected Korean dance figures: Lia Kim, Monika, Shim Jae Won and Honey J.

The trailer also teases appearances by several high-profile sports stars, including former baseball pitcher Oh Seung Hwan, Olympic speed skating champion Lee Sang Hwa, and freestyle skiing star Eileen Gu.
