Following the confirmation that IU and Lee Jong Suk have ended their relationship after four years of public dating, an old YouTube video by a Korean shaman claiming to have predicted the breakup has gone viral, with viewers flooding the comments in what’s known online as a “pilgrimage” to a seemingly accurate prediction.
In April, shaman Cheonsang Seonnyeo uploaded a video titled, “IU and Lee Jong Suk Break Up? A Shaman’s Shocking Reading That Their Four-Year Relationship Has Already Ended.” According to the video, the shaman said she conducted a blind fortune reading using only the birth dates of IU and Lee Jong Suk, without receiving any additional personal information.
During the reading, she claimed: “Their relationship has already ended. That’s what comes up immediately.” She also questioned whether they were truly still in their fourth year as a couple, adding: “It shows they actually broke up much earlier—around two to two and a half years ago.”
The shaman went on to describe the woman—believed to be IU—as loyal, strong-willed, sociable, and someone who overcame a difficult upbringing. She claimed IU remained in the relationship longer because of her sense of loyalty. Regarding the man, presumed to be Lee Jong Suk, she described him as sensitive and said he had initially loved the woman deeply and worked hard for the relationship. However, she claimed their personalities were incompatible.

She further alleged that the man unconsciously felt inferior to the woman and harbored feelings of jealousy, suggesting the two were ultimately better suited as friends than romantic partners.
The most attention-grabbing claim came when the shaman stated that IU was already seeing someone else. She said: “There is another man by her side. She has marriage luck at the age of 37. When she’s physically and emotionally exhausted, someone like a prince charming will appear. I believe she will marry the person she’s seeing now because they complement each other’s personalities.”

Since IU and Lee Jong Suk officially confirmed their breakup on July 10, the video has attracted a wave of new comments from viewers returning to praise what they see as an accurate prediction.
Meanwhile, IU and Lee Jong Suk began publicly dating in 2022 before announcing this week that they had decided to end their romantic relationship and remain supportive colleagues.
