According to an exclusive report by OSEN on July 8, Sana recently received an offer to star in the film Nyangi (working title) and has decided to join the project. The movie will be her first acting role and her first appearance on the big screen since debuting as an idol.
Nyangi is a Korea-Japan co-production that will feature Japanese superstar Takeru Satoh and Sana as the film’s male and female leads. The project will be directed by Kwon Hyuk Chan, while production will be handled by COCCS, NPIO, and Japanese company JACON. Korean production companies COCCS and NPIO will oversee the production, with filming scheduled to begin in Japan during the second half of this year using an entirely Korean production crew.

Since debuting with TWICE in 2015, the nine-member group has remained together without any lineup changes or member departures. Even after more than a decade in the industry, TWICE continues to enjoy enormous global popularity backed by a dedicated international fanbase. At the same time, several members, including Dahyun, Jeongyeon, and now Sana, have begun expanding their careers beyond music by exploring acting opportunities.
Sana’s screen debut in Nyangi has already generated significant excitement. The anticipation is even greater because she will be sharing the screen with Takeru Satoh, widely recognized as one of Japan’s leading romantic drama actors and a performer with a strong fan following in Korea. Many are eager to see whether Sana can reveal a completely different side of herself as an actress and what kind of on-screen chemistry she will develop with Satoh.
Meanwhile, TWICE is currently in the middle of its THIS IS FOR world tour. The group is scheduled to hold the final Seoul concerts at KSPO DOME from July 10 to 12.
