On July 6, Baek Jin Hee uploaded a new video to her YouTube channel, Jiny Is Back, titled “A Painful Confession: Why I Had to Endure Difficult Times Without Complaining to Anyone.”

When asked about the most painful moments of her acting career, Baek Jin Hee admitted, “I’ve gone through many painful and difficult times.” She added, “Some people might think this sounds arrogant, but I worked so desperately hard back then that I honestly don’t want to go back. If I had to relive those days, I don’t think I could work that hard again. That’s why life in my 30s feels much more comfortable.”

She continued by reflecting on the struggles she faced in her 20s. “I wanted to do well so badly, but I lacked experience. No matter how much effort I put in, I couldn’t make up for that, and it was incredibly frustrating.”

Baek Jin Hee also spoke about how her life changed after landing a role in High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged.

“Before joining High Kick, I was just an ordinary person,” she recalled. “But after the show became popular, there was a period when I couldn’t even go to the supermarket or ride the subway comfortably.”

She explained that the sudden attention took a toll on her mental health. “When I was in crowded places, it felt like I was standing still while everyone else was moving around me. Looking back, I think that was the beginning of my panic disorder. I got through that period by focusing on pottery, which helped me heal.”

The actress then revealed one of the most difficult experiences of her early career a double contract dispute.

“It was right after High Kick had just started,” she said. “My manager told me that my contract with the other agency had already ended, so I signed with a new company. But it turned out that wasn’t true. In the end, I ended up under a double contract, and I received a legal notice.”

Baek Jin Hee said she was devastated because her career was just beginning to gain momentum. “I had only just started becoming known to the public, so I couldn’t let something like this become a scandal. In the end, every cent I earned from High Kick went toward paying the penalty fee.”

She concluded by saying the incident taught her one of life’s most important lessons. “It was a huge learning experience. I realized that you can’t trust people too easily.”
