On the July 5 episode of JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, aespa’s Karina and Winter appeared as special guests, allowing the chefs and hosts to explore the contents of their refrigerators.
Viewers were surprised to find an assortment of alcoholic beverages inside, including wine, makgeolli, soju and champagne.
Explaining her drinking habits, Winter said: “I’m not actually very good at drinking, but I enjoy having alcohol with my meals.”

However, the cast noticed a partially finished bottle of soju in the refrigerator. Embarrassed, Winter joked, “The staff said they’d replace it with a new bottle.”
When asked how many days it took her to finish the bottle, she pointed to the remaining amount and revealed: “That’s what I drank in one day.” Karina immediately looked concerned and asked her fellow aespa member, “Are you okay?” Chef Choi Hyun Seok playfully added that what stood out most was the fact that she had been drinking alone while eating dinner.

Earlier in the episode, Winter also showcased what she described as her “grandma palate.” After discovering pumpkin leaves in her refrigerator, she shared her favorite traditional Korean comfort foods. “I boil pumpkin leaves and eat them with rice and thick soybean paste. I kind of have an older person’s taste. I love doenjang, cheonggukjang, ground soybeans, and kongguksu. If I wrap rice with soybean leaves, I can easily finish an entire bowl.” Her confession amused everyone in the studio, as it contrasted with her youthful idol image.
The conversation then turned to drinking snacks. When asked what she usually eats while drinking alone, Winter answered casually, “Kimchi…” Her unexpected answer immediately caught everyone’s attention.

Writer Kim Poong reacted in disbelief: “Soju with kimchi? That’s the real deal.” Chef Choi Hyun Seok then asked another question that no one expected: “Do you pour your soju into a glass?” Host Kim Sung Joo quickly teased him, saying: “She’s an idol. Do you really think she’d drink straight from the bottle?”
But Winter surprised the entire studio with her response. Instead of denying it, she asked, “When you’re drinking alone, don’t you pour it first?” Her candid reply left the cast momentarily speechless before everyone burst into laughter. The unexpected confession became one of the episode’s biggest highlights, showing fans a refreshingly honest and relatable side of the aespa singer.

Winter’s relaxed attitude toward food and her straightforward stories quickly became a talking point among viewers. From her love of traditional Korean dishes to admitting that soju and kimchi make the perfect pairing, the idol showcased a personality that sharply contrasts with her polished stage image.
Her appearance also highlighted the easy chemistry between the aespa members and the show’s hosts, giving fans another memorable variety show moment.
