The July 5 broadcast of tvN’s special 20th anniversary program, Together, Brilliantly Divine – Goblin 10th Anniversary Trip, followed the beloved cast as they traveled to Gangneung to celebrate a decade since the iconic fantasy drama first aired. Joining the trip were Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook, Kim Go Eun, Yoo In Na, Kim Byung Chul, Lee El, and Park Kyung Hye.
As Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook, Kim Go Eun, and Yoo In Na prepared dinner, Kim Byung Chul, Lee El, and Park Kyung Hye made a surprise appearance, delighting everyone.

While enjoying their meal together, the cast reminisced about their experiences filming Goblin, particularly the extensive special makeup required for certain characters.
Lee Dong Wook asked Kim Byung Chul if his makeup process took around two hours. “It did,” Kim Byung Chul replied, before adding with a laugh, ” But Samshin Grandma (Lee El) took eight hours.”
Lee El clarified that the lengthy process only happened during the initial makeup test. “Not exactly. It only took that long during the very first test. After that, it usually took about two to three hours,” she recalled. Lee El portrayed Samshin Grandma, the mysterious deity who guides souls and quietly influences the fates of the drama’s characters. The role required elaborate prosthetics and aging makeup, making it one of the production’s most demanding transformations.
Watching Lee El speak, Yoo In Na admitted she had long been curious about one aspect of her performance. “Did you actually do the voice yourself?” Yoo asked. “I was so amazed by how naturally you sounded like an elderly woman. It never felt awkward.” Lee El shyly explained that the voice came naturally. “My voice is already quite low, so I just wondered how deep I could take it and tried it,” she said.

The conversation eventually turned to personality types, with Lee El revealing that her MBTI is ENFP. The cast also discovered or were reminded that both Lee El and Yoo In Na were born in 1982. Gong Yoo playfully teased the pair, calling them “awkward friends of the same age.” Yoo In Na quickly protested with a smile, saying, “I’m not awkward at all,” drawing laughter from everyone and highlighting the growing friendship between the two actresses during the reunion trip.
The nostalgic special gave fans a rare chance to see the beloved Goblin cast reunite, revisit behind-the-scenes stories, and celebrate the enduring legacy of one of Korea’s most iconic fantasy dramas.
