Rapper Simon Dominic (also known as SsamD) has revealed that a luxury diamond watch worth hundreds of thousands of dollars was stolen from his home, explaining why he no longer allows television or YouTube crews to film inside his residence.

The revelation came during a recent appearance on Kian84’s YouTube channel Life84, where the rapper shared the shocking story with viewers.

While giving Kian84 a glimpse into his daily life, Simon Dominic made it clear that he remains cautious about his home’s security. “I’m not even going to tell you where my safe is. A thief broke into my house.” According to the rapper, the burglar stole a fully diamond-encrusted luxury watch worth several hundred million won.

The case took an unexpected turn when one of Simon Dominic’s friends, who owned the same watch model, visited a watch dealer. His friend noticed an identical watch on display and informed the rapper. Recalling the moment, Simon Dominic said: “My friend told me there was a watch exactly like ours at the store. I tried it on, and it fit my wrist perfectly. It was mine.” He immediately reported the incident to police.

After reviewing surveillance footage and sales records from the watch shop, investigators identified the suspect. Simon Dominic explained that he went to the store with police at around 10 a.m. on Christmas Eve. The suspect had reportedly even provided identification when consigning the stolen watch for sale, making it easier for authorities to track him down. “He was arrested immediately,” the rapper recalled.

Following the burglary, Simon Dominic says he completely changed his attitude toward allowing cameras inside his residence. “After that incident, I stopped filming at my house. If someone asked you to show expensive belongings, would you? I can’t trust people.” His comments have resonated with many viewers, especially as celebrity home tours continue to be a popular content format across television and YouTube.

After the episode aired, clips explaining why Simon Dominic no longer films inside his home quickly spread across online communities and short-form video platforms.

Some netizens speculated whether the burglary occurred after a home filming session, with comments such as:

  • Did the burglary happen after his house was filmed?
  • Could the thief have been someone familiar with the home’s interior?
  • Was someone connected to the production crew involved?

However, Simon Dominic never identified the suspect or suggested that any production staff were connected to the crime. There is also no evidence supporting claims that the burglary was linked to a television or YouTube production crew.

The Life84 episode itself reflected Simon Dominic’s heightened concern for privacy. Several shots that could reveal the location of his home were intentionally blurred to protect his residence.

As celebrity house tours continue to attract millions of views, Simon Dominic’s experience has reignited discussions about the balance between entertaining audiences and protecting celebrities’ privacy and personal security.
