On July 3, Jo Kwon appeared on FIESTAR member Cao Lu’s YouTube channel, where he showcased the witty charm that once earned him the title of one of K-pop’s original variety stars.
During the conversation, Cao Lu brought up the beloved “Adam Couple” from MBC’s We Got Married. She recalled, “When you were filming We Got Married, we were still trainees. We really enjoyed watching it.”
She added, “A lot of people still love We Got Married, and many former couples from the show still meet up. But Jo Kwon and Gain seem to be the only pair people find especially surprising because it doesn’t seem easy for them to stay close.”
Jo Kwon responded by explaining that they never lost contact after the program ended. “Even after We Got Married finished, we continued to stay in touch. We don’t talk all the time, but we check in on each other from time to time, just to make sure we’re both doing well. Occasionally we meet for meals or drinks and have maintained our friendship over the years.”
When Cao Lu smiled and said, “I still think it would be great if you two actually got married,” Jo Kwon replied, “There are still so many fans who love the Adam Couple. We especially have a lot of fans in China,” expressing his gratitude for the continued support.
The conversation then turned to their memorable kiss scenes from the show. Jo Kwon joked, “We kissed so many times that I honestly can’t remember the first one.”
He then recalled, “Our first kiss on the lips happened at the ice rink in the Grand Hyatt Hotel. We were skating while I sang to her, but I was terrible at skating. I remember Gain was actually the one who kissed me first.”
Laughing as he remembered the moment, Jo Kwon repeated, “We kissed so many times.”
When Cao Lu asked whether they still exchange cheek kisses whenever they meet privately, Jo Kwon hesitated for a moment before making a surprising confession. “To be completely honest… we do when we’re drunk,” he admitted.
Cao Lu burst into laughter and responded, “How nice would it be to have a friend like that?” Jo Kwon simply repeated, “We do when we’re drunk.”
Jo Kwon also revealed that he reunited with Gain last year after not seeing each other for quite some time. “We had stayed in contact, but it had been a long time since we actually met. We had a meal together, grabbed some drinks, and even took photo booth pictures.”
He added, “I uploaded the photos to social media, and they generated so many news articles and comments. The reaction was on a completely different level,” highlighting that the Adam Couple continues to attract attention even 17 years after their unforgettable We Got Married pairing.
