On June 26 (KST), the YouTube channel Hello Han Saem Yo uploaded a new episode featuring Hong Seok Cheon.

When asked whether he was currently single, he smiled and replied: “I’m always dating. I’m single, but dating is something I’m always doing.”

He added that as he has gotten older, his relationships have tended to last longer. “As I get older, I feel like the length of my relationships gets longer.”

During the conversation, the show’s production team asked whether living together makes breakups more complicated. Hong Seok Cheon immediately agreed. “That’s right. I’ve experienced all of that.”

He recalled that his first serious boyfriend was from the Netherlands, and the couple lived together for about three and a half years. According to Hong Seok Cheon, when they eventually separated, his former partner carefully listed every personal belonging he had brought into their shared home before moving out. “My first boyfriend was Dutch, and we lived together for about three years and six months. There was a reason we broke up. When he moved out, he made a list of everything he had brought with him and looked for it all.”

Hong Seok Cheon then shared an even more surprising story about another former partner, an American man with whom he lived for four years.

After the relationship ended, his ex made an unexpected request. “After living together for four years, when we broke up, he asked me for a settlement. He wanted some kind of compensation for the four years he had spent with me.”

Despite being caught off guard, Hong Seok Cheon explained why he agreed. “He was someone I loved, and he stayed by my side during the hardest period of my life. I gave it to him because I was grateful for that.”

The story took another unexpected turn after the breakup. Hong Seok Cheon revealed that his former boyfriend later moved to Seoul’s Nonhyeon-dong neighborhood and soon entered a new relationship. The surprising part was that Hong personally knew the new partner. The revelation surprised everyone on the show.

Reflecting on the experience, Hong Seok Cheon said: “You can only imagine the experiences I’ve had throughout my love life.” He added that it was the first time he had ever shared the story publicly on a broadcast.

Although the memories involved heartbreak and unexpected twists, Hong Seok Cheon spoke calmly and openly about the experiences, using them to reflect on the many ups and downs he has encountered throughout his dating life.
