In a recent interview with an American magazine, Lisa reflected on her journey alongside her fellow BLACKPINK members, particularly her close friendship with Rosé. The global star also revealed that she is currently preparing her next solo project.
Looking back on her early days at YG Entertainment as the company’s first foreign trainee, Lisa admitted that adjusting to life in Korea was not always easy. She shared that Jennie was the first member she met and played a key role in helping her settle into the unfamiliar environment.
Later, Jisoo, the oldest member of BLACKPINK, also became a source of support. Despite language barriers at the time, the two gradually found ways to communicate and developed a close friendship.
However, Lisa described a particularly meaningful turning point about a year into her trainee period when Rosé joined the company. Having both grown up overseas and experienced life away from their families at a young age, the two quickly found common ground.
“We became like twin sisters,” Lisa told Vanity Fair. According to the “Rockstar” singer, Rosé’s understanding and emotional support helped her overcome many of the pressures she faced before officially debuting with BLACKPINK.
Over the years, BLACKPINK has grown into one of the most influential girl groups in the world. Today, all four members are focusing on expanding their individual careers under separate management companies while continuing their group activities.
Following the success of her first solo studio album Alter Ego, released in early 2025, Lisa has maintained an intense schedule across music, fashion, and entertainment. During an interview with Billboard, the singer confirmed that she has returned to the recording studio to begin work on her second solo album.
Speaking about the project, Lisa explained that the album is still in the experimentation and development stage. She hopes to showcase a more mature and diverse musical identity while meeting the expectations of her global fanbase.
Earlier this year, Lisa also made headlines on the international stage by performing at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Alongside Anitta and Rema, she performed the tournament’s official anthem, “Goals,” delivering one of the most talked-about performances of the event.
The appearance marked another milestone in her career, making Lisa the first female K-pop artist to perform at a FIFA World Cup opening ceremony.
Beyond music, Lisa has continued expanding into acting through her role in the acclaimed series The White Lotus. At the same time, she is preparing for her upcoming residency show, “Viva La Lisa,” scheduled to take place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in November 2026.
If the project proceeds as planned, Lisa will become the first K-pop artist to headline a long-term residency in Las Vegas, one of the world’s premier entertainment capitals.
The highly anticipated event is expected to further strengthen Lisa’s position and influence in the global music industry.
