On the June 21 broadcast of JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, Kim Dae Myung and actor Namkoong Min appeared as guests ahead of the premiere of their upcoming KBS2 weekend drama The Husband.
As soon as Kim Dae Myung entered the studio, fellow cast members immediately noticed how much weight he had lost compared to his previous appearances.

Known for his warm and approachable image through hit dramas such as Misaeng: Incomplete Life and Hospital Playlist, the actor’s transformed look surprised both viewers and the panel.
The cast commented, “You’ve gotten so much slimmer,” and “You’ve lost a lot of weight,” prompting Kim Dae Myung to explain the reason behind the change.

“I gain or lose weight depending on the role I’m playing,” he said, revealing that he adjusts his body weight to suit the characters he portrays. His willingness to transform physically for a role highlighted his professionalism and dedication as an actor.

Hearing this, Kim Sung Joo expressed surprise, saying, “So you do that too?” Kim Dae Myung responded with a humorous remark: “Well, I got paid for it,” drawing laughter from everyone in the studio.
Ahn Jung Hwan then jokingly asked whether actors set a price per kilogram gained or lost. Kim Dae Myung playfully fired back, “It depends on the market rate,” showcasing his unexpected sense of humor.

Kim Dae Myung has earned praise throughout his career for his strong performances in projects such as Misaeng: Incomplete Life, Hospital Playlist, and The Whirlwind.
He is now preparing to return to viewers with The Husband, a new KBS2 weekend drama that is set to premiere soon.
