the trauma code season 2

According to reports on June 22, Netflix Original series The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call is scheduled to begin filming its next installment this October.

The production team is reportedly planning to develop Seasons 2 and 3 simultaneously. Season 2 will consist of eight episodes, and scripts for the first four episodes have already been completed.

The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call follows the story of genius trauma surgeon Baek Kang Hyuk, a former battlefield doctor who is assigned to revive a struggling and largely ineffective trauma center. The series combines intense medical emergencies with compelling character-driven storytelling.

The upcoming season will expand the story by following Baek Kang Hyuk as he travels to trauma centers located in regional areas across the country, where new challenges and medical crises await.

The core cast from Season 1 is set to return, including Ju Ji Hoon, Choo Young Woo, Ha Young, and Yoon Kyung Ho. New characters are also expected to appear throughout individual episodes, bringing fresh storylines to the drama.

When The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call premiered in January 2025, it immediately became a sensation. The series climbed to No. 1 on Netflix Korea’s “Top 10 Series Today” chart and remained at the top for an impressive 22 consecutive days.

The drama’s popularity extended far beyond South Korea. During Netflix’s fifth-week ranking period of January 2025, it secured the No. 1 spot in the platform’s Global Non-English TV category. Within just three weeks of release, it had already become the seventh most successful Netflix Korea original drama in terms of viewership performance.

The series also enjoyed significant success during awards season. Ju Ji Hoon won Best Actor honors at both the Baeksang Arts Awards and the Blue Dragon Series Awards.

Meanwhile, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call itself took home Best Drama awards at the Blue Dragon Series Awards and the Seoul International Drama Awards, further cementing its status as one of the most acclaimed Korean dramas of recent years.
