On June 21, a new episode was uploaded to the YouTube channel Fairy Jaehyung, featuring So Ji Sub, Yoon Kyung Ho, and Choi Dae Hoon, the stars of SBS’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Agent Kim Reactivated. During the conversation, the actors exchanged various behind-the-scenes stories and personal memories.
While discussing his younger years, So Ji Sub revealed that he was actively involved in swimming and water polo during his school days. He also spoke candidly about the difficult decision he faced between pursuing a professional athletic career and entering the entertainment industry.
The actor explained that financial circumstances played a major role in his choice. “I became a model, and I had started sports because I needed a scholarship to attend school. Then I was cast in a drama, and I chose acting,” he recalled.
“At the time, my family wasn’t in a very comfortable financial situation, so I had no choice but to choose the option that would help me earn money. My professor told me to decide between sports and the entertainment industry. That very day, I packed my things and left the dormitory. I didn’t even have the luxury of thinking it over,” he said.
So Ji Sub also reflected on how his attitude has changed as he has gained more experience in the industry and how marriage has brought him a greater sense of stability.

“I’m much more comfortable than I used to be,” he admitted. “Whenever people met me or interviewed me, I could tell they felt uncomfortable around me. Once I started noticing that, I realized I needed to change a little. I couldn’t just keep doing everything solely according to my personality.”
Host Jung Jaehyung then asked whether marriage had also contributed to that change. “Marriage definitely made me more comfortable as well,” So Ji Sub replied.
The actor married former announcer Cho Eun Jung, who is 17 years younger than him, in 2020. Since then, the couple has maintained a relatively private life while continuing to receive support and well-wishes from fans.
