After dating for a decade, Kim Woo Bin and Shin Min Ah finally tied the knot.
The couple married in December last year and have since returned to their regular work schedules. During a recent talk show appearance with Lee Young Ji, Shin Min Ah made a surprising statement about marriage that quickly caught viewers’ attention.
Lee Young Ji asked her senior actress, “Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about marriage. Some couples date for years and never marry, while others get married after knowing each other for only a short time. I’m curious—when do you finally get that feeling that ‘I have to marry this person’?”
In response, Kim Woo Bin’s wife replied, “I think the later you get married, the better.”
The comment surprised both Lee Young Ji and the audience. Shin Min Ah then elaborated, saying, “That doesn’t mean I’m encouraging you to date as many people as possible. What I mean is that during a relationship, you need enough time to reflect on yourself. Before marriage, it’s very important to understand who you are and how you react in different relationships.”
However, when Lee Young Ji jokingly asked, “So, have you dated a lot?” Shin Min Ah playfully put a finger to her lips and said, “Does that even matter anymore?” causing everyone to burst into laughter.
The actress continued sharing her perspective on love. “When you date, you discover how you react to certain types of people. Through those experiences, you eventually come to understand yourself better. It doesn’t necessarily have to be through romantic relationships. You need time to reflect on yourself through a variety of life experiences. I don’t think there’s any need to rush into marriage.”
The My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho star also discussed what she looks for in a life partner.
“Sometimes people ignore warning signs simply because they like someone. But deep down, you usually already know. There are many cases where you can sense early on that a person may not be the right one for you,” she explained.
She added, “The same applies to friendships. Some relationships are fun, but they don’t make you feel comfortable. You shouldn’t confuse excitement with a healthy relationship.”
Shin Min Ah advised Lee Young Ji to choose people who make her feel safe and comfortable.
Her honest thoughts on love and marriage resonated with many viewers. Fans once again expressed admiration for the actress, who has built both a successful career and a loving relationship with Kim Woo Bin.
Shin Min Ah and Kim Woo Bin first met during a commercial photoshoot more than a decade ago. The couple publicly confirmed their relationship in July 2015 and received widespread support from fans.
In 2017, when Kim Woo Bin was diagnosed with cancer and temporarily halted his career to undergo treatment, Shin Min Ah remained by his side, caring for him and serving as a source of strength throughout his recovery.
Their long-awaited wedding became one of the most celebrated events in Korean entertainment. Kim Woo Bin and Shin Min Ah exchanged vows on December 20, 2025 at The Shilla Seoul.
The ceremony was described as an “awards show” due to the star-studded guest list, which included Lee Kwang Soo, V, Lee Byung Hun, Nam Joo Hyuk, Gong Hyo Jin, Uhm Jung Hwa, Ahn Bo Hyun, PD Na, and renowned screenwriters Kim Eun Sook and Noh Hee Kyung.
Large crowds of fans from both Korea and overseas also gathered outside the venue, once again demonstrating the couple’s global popularity.
According to Korean media reports, Shin Min Ah wore a wedding gown designed by Elie Saab, valued at approximately 42.25 million won.
Her wedding jewelry was also noteworthy. The actress wore high-end pieces from Louis Vuitton, including an 18K white gold diamond necklace featuring 20 navette-cut diamonds and 452 additional diamonds totaling 7.98 carats. The necklace alone reportedly cost around 350 million won.
Her matching earrings were valued at approximately 35 million won each, bringing the total value of the pair to around 70 million won. Meanwhile, Kim Woo Bin’s wedding ring reportedly cost around 17 million won.
Following the ceremony, Kim Woo Bin and Shin Min Ah departed for a honeymoon in Spain, beginning a new chapter after ten years of love and unwavering support for one another.
