Even years after their finales, many Korean dramas continue to leave viewers wishing for more. Whether because of unresolved storylines, open-ended conclusions, or simply outstanding storytelling, these shows remain at the top of fans’ wish lists for a second season.
Many television series prove their lasting popularity long after they finish airing. Massive global success combined with endings that leave room for more has often fueled speculation about potential sequels. In fact, the Korean entertainment industry has produced several exceptional dramas that viewers simply cannot stop talking about. Here are seven Korean dramas fans most desperately want to see return with a second season.
Teach You a Lesson

Starring Kim Mu Yeol, Teach You a Lesson quickly became a global sensation, topping streaming charts in more than 40 countries. Its fast-paced storytelling, realistic themes, and intense action sequences earned comparisons to an educational version of Taxi Driver.
Kim Mu Yeol once revealed that director Hong Jong Chan texted him after witnessing the overwhelming response from international audiences, asking, “What should we do now?” The actor reportedly replied, “Obviously, make Season 2.”
Although no official announcement has been made, many viewers believe the drama’s world and characters still have plenty of stories left to tell.
The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call

This medical drama became one of Netflix’s biggest hits during the Lunar New Year season of 2025. Lead actor Joo Ji Hoon earned widespread praise and multiple awards for his performance.
As demand for a second season continues to grow, Joo Ji Hoon jokingly commented that if viewers wanted another season, there would be no reason to refuse—except that it would mean more hard work for him.
According to Korean media reports, the production company has reportedly begun preparing plans for both Seasons 2 and 3, giving fans even more reason to look forward to the drama’s return.
Moving

When Moving premiered on Disney+ in 2023, it quickly established itself as one of Asia’s most successful superhero dramas.
Following the confirmation of a second season, stars Zo In Sung, Han Hyo Joo, and Cha Tae Hyun all confirmed their return. Rising actress Go Youn Jung is also expected to reprise her role.
However, Lee Jung Ha has begun his military service, meaning his role will likely be recast. The upcoming season is expected to adapt the webtoon Bridge and significantly expand the drama’s supernatural universe.
Lovely Runner

One of the biggest Asian drama phenomena of 2024, Lovely Runner captivated audiences with its emotional time-travel story about a devoted fan determined to save her favorite idol from a tragic future.
The explosive chemistry between Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon became the drama’s greatest strength, helping it dominate viewership charts across Asia.
The supporting cast, including Song Geon Hee, Lee Seung Hyub, Jung Young Joo, Kim Won Hae, and Song Ji Ho, also played a crucial role in creating a vibrant and heartfelt coming-of-age story.
Although producers have not announced any plans for a sequel, fans remain eager to see more of Sun Jae and Sol’s story.
Juvenile Justice

Released on Netflix in February 2022, Juvenile Justice made a powerful impression with its exploration of crimes committed by minors through the eyes of Judge Shim Eun Seok, portrayed by Kim Hye Soo.
The drama tackled difficult and often disturbing cases while balancing themes of justice, empathy, and second chances. Thanks to its compelling storytelling and outstanding performances, the series entered Netflix’s Global Top 10 and received numerous awards.
Following its success, viewers immediately began calling for a second season. Reports later suggested the sequel had been canceled, disappointing many fans. However, Netflix later clarified that no final decision had been made, keeping hopes alive for a possible continuation.
Signal

When it comes to Korean dramas that fans most desperately want to see continue, Signal is almost always mentioned.
The production team previously planned a follow-up project titled The Second Signal to celebrate the drama’s 10th anniversary. However, the project has reportedly faced complications due to controversies involving one of its key cast members.
Since the storyline of the proposed sequel heavily revolves around the character Lee Jae Han, the future of the project remains uncertain. As a result, fans continue to closely monitor whether Signal 2 will eventually move forward.
Hot Stove League

Led by Nam Goong Min, this sports drama became one of Korean television’s biggest surprise successes in 2019.
Starting with ratings of just 3.3%, the series eventually climbed to an impressive 19.1%, thanks to its strong writing and inspiring narrative.
However, the drama’s open ending left many viewers wanting more and eager to follow the next chapter of Baek Seung Soo’s journey. While Nam Goong Min once jokingly told fans to “give up on that idea,” the production team has never completely ruled out the possibility of a second season should the right opportunity arise.
