On June 19, tvN’s variety show You Quiz on the Block released a preview clip on its official social media channels with the caption: “Heo Nam Joon, the rising rom-com star from My Royal Nemesis, visits You Quiz.”
The post added that the actor would discuss everything from the most memorable supportive comments he has received to surprising stories from his school days that reveal a very different side of him.
In the released clip, Heo Nam Joon was asked which fan comment had made him the happiest. He responded with a smile, saying, “There was a comment that said, ‘You’re really not my type. I don’t usually like faces like yours at all, but you keep catching my attention.’ I really liked that one.”
He then shared another memorable reaction from a fan, saying, “I also saw a comment that said, ‘I like him so much I want to marry him. I’m in my 60s—is that okay?’ It was so funny.”
Host Yoo Jae Suk also brought up Heo Nam Joon’s twin brother, mentioning that he had heard the sibling was both tall and handsome.
However, Heo Nam Joon immediately dismissed the compliment with a firm response, saying, “He’s not handsome,” drawing laughter from everyone on set.
The actor also spoke about his family, particularly his father, who works as a farmer. According to Heo Nam Joon, his father’s attitude toward his visits home has changed significantly over the years.
“In the past, he would say things like, ‘What do you mean you’re busy? Come home quickly,’” Heo Nam Joon recalled. “But now he says, ‘Don’t come. Why would you come when you’re busy?’”
He added that his mother has been especially happy to see him more often on television.
“My mom says she feels happy because she gets to hear my voice all day whenever I’m on TV. She tells me, ‘It makes me feel good.’ I’m really grateful for that,” he shared.
