Chinese actress Wu Qian, known internationally for her appearance on Sister Who Make Waves, has found herself at the center of renewed public attention following speculation that she may have reconciled with ex-husband Zhang Yujian.
The rumors spread rapidly after the former couple was repeatedly spotted together in recent months, leading many fans to question whether they had rekindled their relationship four years after their highly publicized divorce.
On June 15, passersby reportedly photographed Wu Qian and Zhang Yujian shopping together at a supermarket. Some online users speculated that the actress appeared to be pregnant after seeing her wearing a loose white dress. The sighting added fuel to months of speculation. Since January, the former couple has allegedly been seen together on multiple occasions, including family outings with their daughter, shopping trips, and vacations in Europe.

According to reports, Zhang Yujian has also moved closer to the area where Wu Qian and their daughter live. As rumors intensified, social media platforms were flooded with discussions suggesting that the pair had reunited romantically and were even preparing for a second child.
Facing growing public attention, Wu Qian addressed the rumors directly on June 16. The actress firmly denied claims that she had remarried Zhang Yujian or was expecting a second child. According to Wu Qian, she initially cut off contact with her ex-husband after their divorce.
However, she later realized that she did not want her personal feelings to prevent their daughter from having a relationship with her father. As a result, the former couple chose to maintain a friendly relationship focused on co-parenting. “I don’t see him as an enemy anymore. We work together to care for our daughter and give her complete parental love.” Her statement received praise from many observers who viewed the arrangement as a mature and responsible approach to parenting after divorce.

Despite Wu Qian’s clarification, many fans remain worried that she could be hurt again if the former couple grows closer. Unverified entertainment-industry rumors have claimed that Zhang Yujian has struggled professionally in recent years and may be relying heavily on Wu Qian’s support. Some reports even alleged that her management team has advised her to maintain clear financial boundaries with her ex-husband. However, none of these claims have been independently verified.
For now, Wu Qian has maintained that her relationship with Zhang Yujian is centered solely on raising their daughter.
Born in 1992, Wu Qian was once considered one of the brightest rising stars of her generation. The actress rose to fame through popular dramas such as My Sunshine, Le Coup de Foudre, and Skate Into Love. Her sweet image and natural acting style earned her nicknames such as “Youth Goddess” and “Huace Princess.”

In 2018, rumors began circulating that Wu Qian and Zhang Yujian had developed feelings for each other while filming Le Coup de Foudre. At the time, Wu Qian’s agency reportedly hoped she would focus on her flourishing acting career. However, she ultimately chose to prioritize her personal life, stepping away from some professional opportunities before marrying and having a child with Zhang Yujian.
In March 2021, paparazzi photos showing Wu Qian carrying a child intensified speculation that she had secretly become a mother. Soon afterward, Zhang Yujian confirmed that the couple was married and had a daughter. However, his announcement drew criticism because many fans felt he appeared reluctant to acknowledge the relationship publicly.
Rather than referring to Wu Qian as his wife, he described her as “the mother of my daughter,” sparking controversy online. The backlash intensified after old television clips resurfaced showing Zhang Yujian presenting himself as single and expressing interest in finding a girlfriend despite already having a family.

On February 14, 2022 Valentine’s Day the couple officially announced their divorce. The news shocked fans and generated widespread criticism toward Zhang Yujian. Many Chinese netizens accused him of failing to publicly support his wife and family during their marriage. Following the divorce, Zhang Yujian faced significant public backlash, while Wu Qian struggled to regain the momentum her acting career once enjoyed.
Although she returned to acting and later participated in Sister Who Make Waves 2023, many observers believe she has yet to fully recover the career peak she enjoyed before marriage.
Despite the public scrutiny surrounding their relationship, Wu Qian insists that she and Zhang Yujian are simply focused on raising their daughter together. While rumors continue to circulate, the actress has made her position clear: there are currently no plans for remarriage, and reports of a second pregnancy are false.
For now, fans can only hope that both stars have found a healthier balance as co-parents after one of Chinese entertainment’s most talked-about celebrity divorces.
