According to SEVENTEEN‘s agency, PLEDIS Entertainment, Joshua will attend the event as SEVENTEEN’s representative and deliver a message of encouragement to young people around the world. The event is scheduled for June 25 as part of Going Together – For Youth Creativity & Well-Being, a global initiative jointly launched by SEVENTEEN and UNESCO to support youth creativity, mental well-being, and personal development.

Joshua will speak in his capacity as a UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassador representative. The event will also be attended by Khaled El-Enany, UNESCO’s Director-General, and will be streamed live on UNESCO’s official YouTube channel.

SEVENTEEN was officially appointed as UNESCO’s first Youth Goodwill Ambassador in 2024. Since then, the group has expanded its global youth-focused initiatives through various projects, including the Going Together campaign.

Joshua’s appearance at UNESCO headquarters marks another milestone in SEVENTEEN’s efforts to spread positive messages beyond music. As one of K-pop’s most influential global acts, the group continues to demonstrate how artists can inspire, connect with, and empower younger generations.

Previously, SEVENTEEN donated $1 million USD to establish a global youth fund aimed at supporting projects that strengthen young people’s confidence and resilience through music, art, and sports. The fund also seeks to foster creative communities and raise awareness about mental health issues among youth.

According to PLEDIS Entertainment, Joshua will use the upcoming speech to share words of encouragement with young people worldwide. His message aligns closely with the initiative’s mission of helping youth unlock their creativity, prioritize mental well-being, and build confidence as they navigate adulthood.

In addition to its UNESCO activities, SEVENTEEN has participated in numerous philanthropic initiatives. The group previously donated proceeds from a charity auction held in celebration of International Youth Day. These efforts highlight how SEVENTEEN continues to leverage its global influence not only through music but also through meaningful social-impact projects.

Since debuting in 2015, SEVENTEEN has grown into one of the most successful and influential K-pop boy groups worldwide. Joshua’s upcoming appearance at UNESCO headquarters further reinforces the group’s image as a youth cultural ambassador promoting creativity, connection, and sustainable development for future generations.
