Recently, Kim Jong Kook uploaded a video titled “The Day Pass Was Expensive Enough, Then I Almost Got Scammed Too… (Feat. Oil Money)” on his YouTube channel Gym Jong Kook.
At the beginning of the video, Kim visited a luxury gym in Dubai, where he explored high-end fitness equipment, including barbells plated in gold, before starting his workout. However, he appeared shocked to learn that a one-day pass cost approximately 120,000 won.
After finishing their workout, Kim and his companions headed to a buggy car experience they had booked in advance. Upon arrival, a staff member checked their reservation and guided the group while asking about payment.

Although Kim believed the reservation process had only secured the booking, the staff member presented a different amount from the one originally confirmed and requested an additional payment. The employee explained, “We’re giving you a discount. You only need to pay 2,000 dirhams,” which is roughly equivalent to 820,000 won.
While reviewing the reservation details, one of Kim’s companions pointed out, “The total amount is actually 1,900 dirhams (about 780,000 won).” Kim added, “We already made a reservation, but the price being mentioned here is different from what we were told, so we’re checking it.”
Despite their concerns, the staff member continued pressuring the group to make an on-site payment. Eventually, Kim followed the employee’s instructions and completed the card transaction. However, a companion quickly intervened, urgently saying, “You shouldn’t pay that. We’ve already paid for everything.”
It was later revealed that the employee was fully aware of the situation and appeared to be targeting confused tourists. To make matters worse, the business he represented had no connection whatsoever to the company through which Kim had originally made the reservation.

After realizing what had happened, Kim calmly told the employee, “Please refund the payment. We’ve already paid in full.” The employee attempted to defend himself by saying, “This isn’t my mistake,” but ultimately processed a refund for the additional charge.
As they left the location, Kim expressed his disbelief. “We really got taken for a ride. It wasn’t even a reservation with their company, but they brought us over to their side and just processed a payment,” he said.
One of his companions echoed the frustration, explaining, “We even showed them the reservation details, and despite knowing it wasn’t their company, they still led us there.”
At the end of the video, Kim shared a warning for travelers. He emphasized that unexpected problems can happen anywhere overseas and advised viewers not to rely solely on friendliness. Instead, he urged travelers to carefully verify reservation information and payment records before making any transactions.
