Actress Han Ga In’s eldest daughter has recently become a hot topic online after reports highlighted her exceptional intellectual abilities. According to local media outlet FnNews on May 30, the young girl is ranked among the top 1% of the smartest children in South Korea, leaving many netizens calling her a true child prodigy.
Han Ga In revealed that she first noticed her daughter’s extraordinary talent when the child unexpectedly began reading both Korean and English despite never receiving formal reading lessons.
The The Moon Embracing the Sun actress proudly recalled the surprising moment: “At first, I simply thought she was a bright child. But when she was around 40 months old, she suddenly started reading both Korean and English. I had never even taught her how to read. It seemed unusual, so I took her for an assessment, and the results showed that she belonged to the top 1% of the smartest children in Korea.”
Speaking openly about her parenting approach, Han Ga In shared that she regularly played English fairy tales throughout the house while her daughter was growing up.
“When she was little, I constantly played English storybooks for her to listen to. Every day, I would leave them playing for several hours. I think English naturally became familiar to her through that environment,” the actress explained.
The actress expressed her happiness over her daughter’s love of reading, saying, “Because she has maintained a strong reading habit for a long time, her reading comprehension developed very quickly. At first, I thought it was because she attended an international kindergarten. But later I realized she was already good at English even before she enrolled there.”
Beyond her impressive language skills, Han Ga In revealed that her daughter also has a deep interest in science. According to the actress, her child’s favorite reading material is actually a science magazine.
“She signed herself up for a special interview program for loyal readers and was even selected to participate,” Han Ga In said proudly while showing a magazine feature that included her daughter.
The actress also explained why she chose to enroll her daughter in an international school. “My daughter loves presentations and discussions. Because of her personality and interests, I wanted to find a school environment that suited her strengths,” she shared.
This is not the first time the couple’s daughter has drawn public attention for her academic abilities.
Back in May 2023, Han Ga In’s husband, actor Yeon Jung Hoon, sparked widespread interest after speaking about their daughter’s remarkable knowledge during an episode of 2 Days & 1 Night Season 4.
During an intellectual quiz segment, a question involving the periodic table appeared on screen. Yeon Jung Hoon surprised everyone by casually remarking, “My daughter has memorized all of the chemical elements.”
His fellow cast members were so amazed that they decided to call his daughter for help with some of the science-related questions featured on the program. The young girl effortlessly answered questions within her area of knowledge, astonishing both the cast and television viewers.
Considering that she had already memorized nearly the entire periodic table at just seven years old, many viewers agreed that Han Ga In and Yeon Jung Hoon’s daughter possesses exceptional academic talent far beyond that of most children her age.
Han Ga In and Yeon Jung Hoon married in 2005. The actress became pregnant for the first time in 2015, but sadly suffered a miscarriage after around eight weeks. Following that difficult experience, the couple welcomed their first daughter in 2016. Three years later, they celebrated the birth of their second child, a son, completing their family of four.
