On May 30, actress Ji Ye-eun appeared on the popular YouTube show Pinggyego, joining fellow actors Lee Kwang-soo and Byeon Woo-seok for a candid conversation with host Yoo Jae-suk that was filled with laughter, behind-the-scenes stories, and relationship talk.
As soon as Ji Ye-eun appeared on the show, Yoo Jae-suk playfully introduced her as “Vata’s girlfriend,” drawing laughter from everyone in the studio.
The veteran host even revealed the couple’s nickname, “Jiavata,” a combination of Ji Ye-eun’s name and Vata’s. Yoo Jae-suk couldn’t hide his excitement about the relationship, smiling as he continued teasing the actress throughout the conversation.
The cast quickly turned the discussion toward Ji Ye-eun’s newly public romance. Byeon Woo-seok jokingly told her: “You’ve become so much prettier since you started dating.” He then asked whether she had informed Vata about her appearance on Pinggyego.

Ji Ye-eun replied that she had told him she would be filming the show, prompting Lee Kwang-soo to let out an exaggerated celebratory cheer that sent everyone into laughter.
During the conversation, Ji Ye-eun admitted that while Byeon Woo-seok is known for being considerate and kind, she still prefers Vata. The comment led Yoo Jae-suk to recall his observations from the time they filmed Yoo Jae-suk Camp together.
According to Yoo, he suspected the two were already dating at the time because Ji Ye-eun frequently checked her phone throughout filming. “Looking back, I think you were already together then,” he said.
Lee Kwang-soo jokingly added: “Every time she disappeared, she said she was going to pass gas. Was that actually what was happening?”. Ji Ye-eun immediately denied the accusation, causing another round of laughter.
Yoo Jae-suk also revealed that Ji Ye-eun personally called him the night before news of her relationship became public.
According to the host, she expressed concern that dating reports might be released the following day. Wanting to ease her worries, Yoo advised her to simply address the news naturally during filming if it became public.

The revelation highlighted the close bond between the two entertainers and explained why Yoo appeared so relaxed when discussing the relationship.
One of the sweetest moments came when Ji Ye-eun spoke about Vata’s relationship with her family. “My younger brother really likes Vata,” she shared. She added that Vata has even attended worship services with her family, further demonstrating how close he has become to her loved ones.
According to Ji Ye-eun, their romance developed naturally after they met through church. “We attended the same church and gradually became closer. We’re both introverts, so the talking stage lasted quite a long time.”
Yoo Jae-suk also recalled hearing that Vata helped choreograph Ji Ye-eun’s popular “Chungju Ji-C” dance challenge. As they spent more time together practicing choreography, their friendship slowly evolved into something more.
The host jokingly added that fellow entertainer Ji Suk-jin apparently failed to notice the growing chemistry between them and never gave the pair much privacy. Looking back on that period, Ji Ye-eun admitted: “That was the first time in a long while that I felt butterflies.”

Both born in 1994, Ji Ye-eun and Vata reportedly grew closer through their shared interests, personalities, and faith before eventually becoming a couple.
Following reports of their relationship, their agency confirmed: “The two, who had been colleagues, developed positive feelings for one another and are currently dating. We ask for your warm support.”
With the couple now publicly embracing their relationship, fans have continued to show support for the pair, especially after hearing more about the sincere and gradual way their romance began.
