A shocking real-life story involving a Korean actor, identified only as “B,” has sparked widespread attention after allegations surfaced that he deceived a woman into a relationship while hiding the fact that he was already married.

The case was revealed on the March 17 broadcast of JTBC’s Case Chief, where a woman in her 30s, referred to as A, shared her experience of dating and living with the actor under the assumption that they were planning to marry.

Relationship Built on Lies

According to A, she first met B after attending a theater performance. The two quickly developed a romantic relationship, with B presenting himself as a struggling actor determined to succeed without his parents’ support. “He said he was living in a practice room because his parents opposed his acting career and that he wanted to make it on his own,” A explained.

Moved by his determination, A introduced B to her parents. He reportedly told them that he was serious about marriage, gaining their trust and effectively being treated as a future son-in-law. The couple soon began living together.

A’s parents even supported B financially, sending catering and coffee trucks to his theater and covering expenses when the couple faced financial difficulties.

Hidden Truth Comes to Light

Despite the serious nature of their relationship, B repeatedly avoided introducing A to his own family, claiming they should wait until he achieved success. Eventually, A discovered that B had been married before. When confronted, he allegedly admitted it but insisted that he had already divorced and was simply waiting for the right time to tell her.

Although angered, A gave him another chance after he tearfully apologized. However, the truth proved to be even more shocking. Through an acquaintance, A located a restaurant run by B’s parents and visited them, only to learn that B was not divorced at all but still legally married and merely separated from his wife. “His wife even visited during the last holiday,” his parents reportedly revealed, expressing confusion over the situation.

Financial and Emotional Damage

The revelation left A and her family devastated. Over time, her parents had provided B with tens of millions of won under the belief that he was a trustworthy partner.

Legal experts who appeared on the program stated that the situation could potentially qualify as fraud. Attorney Park Ji Hoon noted that “there are grounds to suspect fraud, as he may have obtained financial benefits through deception.”

Another attorney, Shin Yoo Jin, added that A could pursue both emotional damages and financial compensation, especially if the flow of money provided by her parents can be clearly proven.

The case has sparked discussions among viewers about trust, deception, and the vulnerability of individuals in romantic relationships, especially when financial support is involved. While the actor’s identity has not been publicly disclosed, the controversy continues to gain traction online, with many calling for accountability and legal action if the allegations are confirmed.
