Yushi

Biography

Yushi is a Japanese singer, dancer, and performer based in South Korea. He is a member of the South Korean boy band NCT and its Tokyo-based sub-unit NCT WISH, managed by SM Entertainment and Avex Trax. Yushi debuted with NCT WISH in February 2024 and has since been recognized for his strong performance skills and charismatic stage presence.

Early Life and Education

Yushi was born Tokuno Yūshi on April 5, 2004, in Tokyo, Japan. From a young age he showed an interest in performance and music, later auditioning for SM Entertainment during his school years. After being accepted, he relocated to Korea to pursue idol training.

Details about his early education prior to entering SM Entertainment have not been widely publicized, but his move to Korea at a relatively young age reflects his early commitment to becoming a K-pop artist.

Career

Pre-Debut and SMROOKIES

Yushi trained under SM Entertainment for approximately five years before debut. He was introduced as a future NCT member on June 28, 2023 as part of the company’s pre-debut team SMROOKIES, alongside fellow member Sion.

Debut with NCT WISH (2023–present)

Yushi officially debuted as a member of NCT WISH on February 28, 2024, with the release of the group’s first digital single Wish in both Korean and Japanese versions. The group is the sixth official sub-unit of NCT, based in Tokyo and designed to promote actively in both the Japanese and Korean markets.

Within NCT WISH, Yushi serves as a vocalist and dancer, contributing to the unit’s energetic performances, visuals, and choreography. The group quickly gained attention both domestically and internationally following their debut.
