On January 14, the YouTube channel MMTG aired a new video titled “Live Update After Jang Hyunseung’s Exorcism (w. Exorcist Jaejae).” In the episode, Jang candidly addressed his past, often referred to online as his “demonic era,” marked by attitude controversies during his BEAST days.

“I was just immature,” Jang admitted, owning up to his previous behavior. Host Jaejae noted how people online famously joked that he looked like a different person after his military service, saying, “They said you got exorcised the light is back in your eyes.”

Jang replied, “The military naturally turns you into a better person. I enlisted a bit late, and though I may not have been perfect, I didn’t want to be a burden to others.” He continued, “Because I enlisted later, I was determined to do better. I received praise, and my environment supported me there was no reason for me not to be exorcised.”

Jaejae added, “Everyone, just get some good sleep, soak up some sunlight, and live on a regular schedule you too can be exorcised, just like Jang Hyunseung.”

Looking back at footage of himself from his controversial period, Jang laughed and said, “That’s not me anymore. That guy doesn’t exist now,” offering some lighthearted self-deprecation.
