idol turned adult star

The strict rules of the idol industry have led some performers to unexpected career paths, and former idol Haruno Eri is one such example.

Before her debut, Haruno Eri auditioned for multiple idol groups while still in high school but ultimately withdrew due to restrictive regulations, including rules about hair color. Despite these setbacks, she successfully debuted in January 2015 as a member of SAY-LA.

However, her idol career was short-lived. Just nine months after debut, Haruno was removed from the group due to what was described as “a serious rule violation.” Following her dismissal, she took a job at a maid café, where she learned about adult video actresses who maintained idol-like activities and fan interactions.

Motivated by this discovery, Haruno approached several adult entertainment agencies and was eventually signed by C-More Entertainment. She rebranded herself as Yumemite Uta and officially entered the adult film industry with her debut work, The Last Idol Debut, a project inspired by her experiences turning down major idol groups.

Yumemite Uta remained active in the industry until early 2021, when she announced that she had stepped away from public life and described herself as a regular citizen. By December of that year, she stated that she had retired entirely.

However, in February 2022, she revealed another career turn, announcing that she would resume activities in the adult industry under the name Yumemite Uta. Since then, she has continued appearing in adult productions, including new works released in 2025.

Her story has drawn attention for highlighting the rigid structure of idol life and how some former idols find freedom and renewed success after leaving the traditional entertainment system.
